snow weight and wind. The heat retention is negligible based on the structure of the north side. They do offer excellent sun/solar access, providing sunlight throughout the entire day and all 4 seasons. The flat surfaces enable easy installation of vents for excellent heat dissipation during warmer months and in warmer climates. These greenhouses can be more expensive as they require some engineering to create however kits are readily available. Additionally the grow bed layout is more difficult since conventional grow bed setup cannot be effectively utilized in these structures. With a little creativity though, such as these below, they can be highly efficient.
